QuareClare, County Clare’s community organisation dedicated to fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity in County Clare, is thrilled to announce the receipt of substantial funding from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth LGBTI+ Community Services Fund 2023.

The funding is set to fuel transformative projects aimed at creating a more inclusive, supportive, and accepting environment for the LGBTQIA+ community in County Clare. Among the key initiatives that will benefit from this funding are:

1. Clare Pride 2024: A Celebration of Diversity and Unity

QuareClare is gearing up for Clare Pride 2024, a community-driven Pride event that promises to be a vibrant celebration of diversity and unity. This inclusive gathering will provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to come together and celebrate their identities. Featuring LGBTQIA+ artists, musicians, performers, guest speakers, informational booths, and networking opportunities, Clare Pride 2024 is poised to be a landmark event in County Clare.

2. Visibility Campaign: Challenging Stereotypes and Promoting Positive Representation

The funding will contribute to a multimedia Visibility Campaign, sharing stories of achievements, contributions, and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in County Clare. Through powerful narratives of resilience, this campaign aims to challenge stereotypes and promote positive representation, fostering a more empathetic and understanding community.

3. Awareness Workshops in Schools: Fostering Inclusivity and Combating Bullying

QuareClare recognizes the pivotal role of education in shaping inclusive communities. The organisation will conduct awareness workshops in local schools, addressing the need for inclusivity, acceptance, and understanding of LGBTQIA+ peers. The goal is to foster a more supportive environment, combat bullying, and create a space where all students feel valued and respected.

4. Artistic Expressions of Identity: Showcasing Creativity and Talent

An arts exhibition titled “Artistic Expressions of Identity” will showcase the creativity and talent of LGBTQIA+ artists. This initiative provides a platform for expression, encouraging dialogue and appreciation for diverse experiences. Through art, QuareClare aims to break down barriers and contribute to a more inclusive cultural landscape in County Clare.

QuareClare expresses deep gratitude to the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth for their generous support. This funding will play a pivotal role in bringing these transformative projects to life and creating a lasting impact on the LGBTQIA+ community in County Clare.
